A bad loan can eat into your sweldo for months, so we're careful about what we publish. This page explains who is behind PersonalLoans.ph, how we choose and review lenders, how we write guides, and how we make money.
Who we are
PersonalLoans.ph is owned and operated by Dominet. Content is produced and maintained by the PersonalLoans.ph editorial team. We are a comparison and information website. We are not a bank, lending company or financing company, we do not hold an SEC Certificate of Authority, and we never make credit decisions.
Which lenders we list
- Partners only. We only show lenders and loan-matching platforms we have an affiliate partnership with. Our pages are therefore not a complete list of lenders in the Philippines, and we say so on the page.
- SEC registration is required. Lending and financing companies must be registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and hold a Certificate of Authority (CA) to operate. We only list a lending or financing company if it shows its corporate name, SEC Registration No. and CA No., and we check those details against the SEC's published lists or the lender's own official website. Loan-matching platforms do not lend, so they do not need a Certificate of Authority; we show their corporate details where we could verify them, and the loan itself is always with a partner lender whose SEC details you should check before signing.
- Where we could not verify, we say so. If we cannot confirm a detail, we display “SEC details: verify on sec.gov.ph” instead of guessing.
How we review lender information
- Amounts, terms and costs are quoted only from each lender's official website, with the date we checked. We never invent or estimate interest rates, fees or approval odds.
- The compare page shows the date its information was last checked. We re-check lender details when we update the page and whenever a reader or partner reports a change.
- If a lender loses its registration or Certificate of Authority, or is the subject of an SEC advisory, we remove it.
How the loan matcher ranks lenders
The loan matcher scores each partner lender on the amount, speed, income and requirement information it publishes. If a lender doesn't publish something, it scores neutral. Commissions do not change the score. The full scoring rules are on the matcher page.
How we write and update guides
- We base guides on primary sources: laws and regulations, SEC memorandum circulars and advisories, and the official websites of agencies such as the SEC, BSP, Pag-IBIG Fund, SSS and the National Privacy Commission.
- Every guide shows its real publish date and a “last reviewed” date. We never backdate articles. When rules change, we update the guide and its date.
- Guides start with a short, answer-first summary, and we write in plain English or natural Filipino/Taglish so they are easy to understand.
- We never promise approval, and we always remind readers to read the lender's disclosure statement and compare the total amount to repay.
- Guides are general information, not financial or legal advice.
How we make money
We earn affiliate (CPA) commissions from partner lenders or affiliate networks when you click through or apply. Partnerships decide which lenders can appear on our site, but they do not buy positive coverage in our guides and do not change matcher scores. Details are in our affiliate disclosure.
